Our History
The Manor house at Tur Langton is a private home to the Stanhope family, who have farmed the neighbouring land for many years up to the diversification of the farm yard in Tur Langton. The house has a rich history, dating back to the early 1600's with evidence of an earlier larger medieval house. Originally built as an H-shaped plan, the Manor house now retains primarily its central range and part of the north wing, the rest having been destroyed by fire in the late 18th century. The central range served as the great hall.
Tur Langton's present-day name does not appear to have been established until at least the late 16th century, despite its inclusion in the small hundred of Langton in the 1130 Leicestershire Survey and the parish itself being recognised as part of the ecclesiastical parish of Church Langton since 1220.
The Rural Business Park is a family-run business that has grown organically over the last 28 years of diversification from farm to business park.
